OMG OMG OMG! A Hole in an AIRPLANE!!!! OMGZ

Ive been dropping bombs in eastern Afghanistan providing CAS to troops or an outpost in contact with the enemy on the ground both day and night, and have been capped in altitude by the AWACS due to airliner traffic passing overhead east/westbound out of Pakistan.

Weird when I had a chance to later think about it.

Do those AWACS broadcast VHF sometimes?

I was over Afghanistan crossing into Pakistan airspace, blacker than a bulls tookis at night, and I'd hear "(unintelligible) cleared in tactical" every so often, it might have been over guard or air-to-air, I can't remember.

Like ATC, they shotgun the mike over multiple freqs if need be, including UHF/VHF Guard if they didn't get a response from normal freqs. So you'll likely here bits and pieces of stuff. If its something important, then they/we will go secure on designated tactical frequencies, otherwise basic comms are in the red and can be heard if on the appropriate freq.

Must have been a Plymouth. Cessna Caravans don't go screaming anywhere.
I had a Plymouth Caravan, trust me, the only screaming done was by anyone foolish enough to hitch a ride to the airport with me.

Someone even drew AAA batteries on the practice area charts.

First thing that came to mind:
