Yeah....Just a few weeks ago I was asked by the manager of a certain FBO in SoCal to leave because my airplane "just looks like too much of a liability to have in the hangar" and that her line service guys were "off put because of the different color panel and patchwork on the cowlings"....basically got booted out of the airport because we weren't a shiny jet. Definitely left the impression that SoCal was a bit snobby.

Just had these bad boys visit the other day. The top of the pine tree is about 100 feet.
 
The helos are barred from going back to North island, according to the station commander.

I just knew it had to be SNA of all the airports in So. Ca. It made sense to me from my own experiences and that it had to be Signature. They really have a attitude at some of their larger locations and especially at SNA. That's why I told him to use Atlantic.

Speaking of SNA, in ARFF recert last week, there were 4 OCFA firefighters attending also, and they were talking about having just barely managed to keep the airport firestation under OC control, rather than two contract companies that bid against them. OCFA has been having a bad time with scandal lately, so that doesn't help.

To add fuel to the fire, when they were done with their story of how they barely kept the contract; I told them I'd have to ensure that I lower my bid a little more next time. :D

Ha! That was cold!!

There was also such an enormous scandal with the OC Sheriff (Carona and also with Haidl) along with the mishandling of huge amounts of monies that people were really fired up. Then when the scandal hit about the Fire Marshall and then the Chief, I am not surprised. He was billing businesses clear back in 2012 for inspections that were never done. It went downhill from there and he made all sorts of crazy changes and finally some sort of audit was conducted that didn't go well for him. I felt sorry for the Firemen themselves as it certainly wasn't their fault and they had a lot to contend with. Their morale must be in the dumps for sure. In fact, the Chief is supposed to bail from his position at the end of this month because of all the b.s. that has gone on. Not pretty. I had thought that the ARFF contact was still pretty secure after the last go around of the City taking bids on it and there was a little campaign going on about the costs back last year, but I don't exactly follow this either. But I thought their contract is up next year unless some extension/amendment was made to it. (and there could have been as like I say I am outta the loop on that stuff) Really all of this started back in 2011 as I remember, when it was first suggested that outside bids be taken.
 
SNA is the first part of snafu. I don't hate the place, but it's not friendly. And Signature is going to run into a monopoly problem if they don't stop buying all the FBOs at every field.

Haha! Yes we are indeed. Sometimes we all have our moments, but some have them more often than others.
I would rate this guy pretty high on an attention ho scale of 0 to Miley Cyrus. Much ado about nothing.
