Oh United

That’s a big subject, and you’re right, it goes back way before Trump of course. What do you think the reasons are?

That would be a long list and probably another thread. But can be summed up as, it’s always easier to punch down on a smaller group that doesn’t look like the larger group. And especially when historically, the larger group was always the one in that career, it wasn’t until decades later the first woman and minority pilots came into the picture and started getting hired at majors.

Yeah, that sounds like a reasonable explanation to me.

It has been exactly 2 days since someone completely ‘mid’ questioned my qualifications and said raising the age limit is going to magically solve the issue which we haven’t even determined if the recent accidents are even related.

The bad news is that the minimums are higher today than they were 15 years ago, but no one wants to talk about that.

Please, great sage of aviation, share with us your wisdom:

Less "Dude" and more "Deebo"

Remind them they're at the airlines now and nobody cares about their "callsign"
most of the mil pilots I've flow with have been super cool...

although one guy from a certain fighter community really wanted to let everyone know over the PA (every time) when he was flying over Shepard AFB while on the Victory arrival into DFW. "...back in 91' I was training with the air for...."

NOBODY CARES...brosef

he was cringe most of the flight...

Since this is a recent thread, and it’s Oh United, putting this here instead of a new thread.

Oh United.

Dear Magenta kids,

Please magenta correctly.

Summary:
UAL departs 01R supposed to be on the Trukn, but makes a 90 deg turn to the left. Right into a CRJ that took off 01L at the same time.

To be fair the uniform rollout takes up a lot of bandwidth.

Probably in the morning hour everyone was switching from the NIITE departure to the Truckn, forgot to switch the box! Or ATC forgot…

The opening text reads like an ASAP from the controller. Towards the end it says pilots had contacted the tower and the FO was flying and it was his/her first time in SFO. I'm not saying that was necessarily the cause, but certainly degrades the overall situational awareness. Were it some bogus ATC clearance, one that didn't make sense, perhaps a more seasoned pilot would have scratched their head and caught the irregular route...
