Don't get the wrong impression, I've been rightfully called paranoid, and I might well have been suffering the effects of doing union work at a TSH airline, but...yeah I was a little paranoid.

Can confirm the March 3rd UA class has been "postponed" with no idea when the people will be attending the class. Sucks. Three buddies were in the class. Now they are all scrambling to go back to their former regional.

Don’t kid yourself it’s not limited to United (though they are the ones doing it now). If the past is any indication pretty much every airline at some point has screwed over new hire classes between 9/11, mergers, and the recession. I just hope it doesn’t get worse than this.

They look at their high income as "what toys can I buy this month" when they should be living like their on RJ pay and investing that extra income so in 5-10 years they could quit their legacy left seat job if they wanted too and live off their investments. But no, they want bigger boats.

UAL has it's own set of circumstances and even at that this cancellation a very odd event.

I would expect AA to tone down the hiring numbers for this year. That isn't as bad for the WOs (to an extent) as it is for the off the streets though.

I'd expect LCCs to not stop hiring.

Yeah dude, I've been through 9/11, Great Recession, and age 65. I'm all too familiar.

I always liked ExpressJet’s terminal leave rule. That isn’t what it was called, but IMS it was easier to go back within 90 days.
