Oh JetBlue XII - pins gone wild

Side note: If you see someone wearing a Nazi pin, saying Nazi things, or doing Nazi stuff, don't say anything. Punch them.

Always punch Nazis. It's the 21st century and we all know what Nazis and use of their symbols are.

Punch a Nazi?

If you don’t see a link between the shooting of Charlie Kirk and your encouragement of punching folks for their offensive views, you aren’t really trying.

How about we don’t punch or shoot people that have views wildly different than our own.

Are we really defending Nazi’s now? What a wild world we live in. Go home 2025. You’re drunk.

Is English your second language or are you just stupid?

The issue is promoting violence against those that have extreme views. That happened in this thread. The subject is somewhat newsworthy if you haven’t noticed .

I know the left likes to throw that word around loosely, but you’re telling me if Adolf Hitler was standing right in front of you, you’d preach restraint?

What would I do if I saw Adolph Hitler just walking down the street? Do you mean I see a guy in like the military outfit with the little mustache, 'cause then I would assume that's someone dressed up as Hitler. I'm not gonna kill that guy. I'm not gonna kill an actor and ruin Indiana Jones 5 just 'cause I don't understand costumes. Or does he mean I'm walking down the street and I see like an old old man who I think might be Hitler based on my memory of what Hitler looks like. I'm not gonna kill that guy either, because I am often wrong. I'd murder him and people would be like, "Woah! You just killed an old, old man!" and I'd be like, "He looked like Hitler!" And they're like, "Yeah, a little…"

An essential part of society is due process under the law. Playing judge, jury, and executioner isn't the way.

Counter-factuals are fun. If I were a German in Germany in the 1930’s or 1940’s, probably.

If he were an up and coming leader in the German American Bund, absolutely not. The ACLU supported their right to free expression and so would I. Free expression launches radical movements, it also destroys them.

I agree. Yet, the media is running front page headlines about how the suspect is not cooperating with police and how he’s absolutely silent and not being helpful.

God forbid someone exercise their 5th amendment rights. Sounds like he espouses the whole don’t talk to the police, let the lawyer do it. This guy is going down for murder, but he has every right to silence like anyone else.

Since we seem to have dug up this 15 month old thread to argue about something unrelated to the original topic, I have a request;

I’ll help you out. Broadly, the topic of this thread is how we should deal with free expression in our society.

One or more people in this thread justified violence in some cases. They are not alone, as headlines suggest.

I can’t fathom what would motivate someone to resurrect a year old thread in order to defend Nazis, but you do you.

Off to The Lav we go!

Nothing to add here, other than I like your tag line. "Whether Atlanta is your home or you are visiting for business or leisure, we are glad you're here".

There have been a few members here advocating violence for differing opinions over the years. I've called it out, nothing happens. This ain't APC. (I don't belong to APC but I have perused it.)

Is that what you think is happening here? Are you • retarded or just don’t read so well?

I’m not defending anything other the freedom of expression. For 40 years, “punch a Nazi” has been a common sentiment in punk circles that few would challenge. I challenged it then and I challenge it now. It’s consistent with my belief that we shouldn’t punch (or shoot) anybody for nothing other than offensive speech.

My motivation? A little disturbance last week in Utah. Does the resurrection make more sense to you now?

You’re an angry little fella. Time for a Snickers.
Snarky remarks ring hollow given the current state of affairs, especially when it comes to freedom of speech and violent actions trying to suppress it, not from the government but from the citizens. I don't like the apparent path we're headed down, if the guns come out and it gets real it's going to be very ugly. We're walking on thin ice as a society right now, one wrong move might end up with both sides getting wet. Tread lightly.
