This thread definitely needs started.. good luck to those still remaining to go through CHI PEPC.. great experience in Chicago, just like described on this and other forums.

Im glad I can finally post in a waiting for FOL thread!!!!!!

It definitely was a relaxed time after I finally found the faa building!!!!

Thx to all the faa people there who read this site, a few of them even mentioned it during the pepc process. good luck to everyone and lets hope for some quick class dates (before oct.)

and prominence just noticed your sig that you got your redirect, I guess we will not be joining each other at the academy. How hard was it to get?

I hate the waiting phase. but it is what it is. I hope, since I already have a clearance with TSA, that'll speed up my process.:nana2::rawk::nana2::rawk:

Oh brother, here we finally are. I am so excited to wait the estimated 9 months that my HR Rep told me I'd be enduring. Really, now? January or February? What a sham. Finding out 20 minutes into my PEPC that I had 9 months of waiting ahead of me sure made the rest of the day a big bummer. No one even congratulated me at the PEPC. Sure, they were nice people. On top of all of that, I just got two emails today for PUBNAT 5 and 6, asking for my geo prefs. HERE WE GO AGAIN! Lol, what a silly process this all is. Hopefully the ATC gods see it fit to hurry me through the process earlier. Hopefully the do the same for you.

By the way, when did they tell you guys to expect to start?

we were told supposedly that everyone from pubnat 3/4 should get into class by end of fiscal year 09, and that next pubnat in la is going to be for hiring in 2010.

They mentioned info already stated about Hawaii and lousiana and other short staffed places will be pushed through quicker but everyone else would be at least june julyish

Yeah, thats what I heard. My friend got picked for Louisiana, so I think shes gonna get called quickly

The HR Rep that I saw, and this was for Enroute, said the classes were filled through october/FY09. Maybe she was juts referring to Enroute, or maybe not. It's really frustrating to keep getting different/very vague answers from every person you talk to. But I know that's how it all works.

Well, I am happy to be a part of this thread as well. I wish everyone the best of luck! I am eagerly anticipating my FOL with everyone else. I am glad to have another step behind us and it feels great to know the application process is almost over!!!

Not to be too pesimistic, but 9 months is hardly almost over...

Any other Enroute guys get an estimate on how long before OKC?

I think it means that a good majority going to the la pepc will have to wait until fy10 to go to the academy like the rest of us

Kinda bummed out that I have to send in more medical info due to an existing heart condition, but otherwise very excited to be a part of this thread. I just hope my Medical isn't delayed because of this. Cardiologist says more testing is pointless and refused to do it, but gave me a bunch of papers to send back in to the Regional Flight Surgeon. Anyways, CONGRATS to everyone!!! I didn't ask anyone at the PEPC about class dates (wish I had), but they did say to expect an FOL in 8 weeks. Good luck to everyone, and again CONGRATS!

I guess I don't consider the wait after the FOL and a start date to be part of the application process. Not that I want to wait, but it will feel soooo much better to have it in my hands!

dude was that you talking to the flight surgeon when I was finishing up? He was all "blah blah blah, I have a big chin and you should never have been issued an airman certificate with that condition blah blah blah..."??

sorry about that. I was hell of worried for you when I was sitting there.. but hey at least they're going to try to get you in after more paperwork!

The HR lady I meet with told me to expect a class from anywhere between Oct 09- May 10. Hope she is wrong

Yeah, you were sitting at the table while I was waiting for the Doc. I think you were filling out your Med Cert App. It must have been around 1 o'clock when I saw you.
