That has been my experience thus far...I guess she does get points for quick replies. A response you don't necessarilly want to hear is better than no response in my book.:banghead:

I usually take the idea of "no news means good news" ESPECIALLY with the FAA.

B.R. has always been very nice in her emails but very to the point. I'd give 5 words answers myself I was getting 34097125 emails a day from you annoying little OTS applicants :laff:

Well, I can finally join the club of waiting until next fiscal year.

I emailed my hr rep today to check on clearances and was told just waiting on medical. I also asked about a possible class date and was told would not be getting a class until after october.

So I guess any news is better than no news.

So how does everyone think next fiscal year is going to go. After oct has been given to almost everyone that is not going to a high need facility. Obviously there is not going to be a magic switch that once October 1st hits 500 people will be heading to Oklahoma.

Knowing my luck I won't be going to OKC until this time NEXT year.. However, I have a feeling they'll space class dates apart kind of like they do now and try to get us through there as quickly and efficiently as possible. They are, afterall, in need of more trainees.

I'm just going to cross my fingers and hope for sometime close to October 2009.

This is a valid point. There are a couple hundred candidates processed through the last 3 PEPC's and the majority of us have been told October. Since there are only so many spots availabe in October, the reality is that most of us will probably be scheduled for dates in late fall this year and early spring 2010. Oh well, whats a couple more months eh?

It's the perfect amount of time to review and familiarize yourself with all the basics from the .65!

I'm not saying anyone should study it.. save that for the Academy.. they like, want and appreciate clean slates and fresh minds for melding v.s. peeps who may or may not have tried to learn it all in advance.. it messes with the student/teacher/edumucation dynamic...

Maybe just learn like..what exactly VOR, Localizer, ATIS, IFR, blah... blah.. blah.. are by definition.. not how they apply to atc or how you're going to worry about them.. just learn the basic noun/verb definition for everything! just so you know and don't get twisted up when the instructors begin revving up the lessons and working up the tiers of their own guru aviation knowledge while you're fumbling around with flashcards trying to remember what thing are.

Given: A lot of people here may already know a lot of aviation nouns and beneficial generalized concepts/knowledge

Taken into Consideration: This message can be beneficial for anyone with either NO aviation experience or (like myself) anyone who has been out of the loop for a while.

Hey all, looks like I'll be joining the ranks of those of you who wait till After Oct 2009.

Just heard from HR, my facility has finished hiring from the year. This is not consistent with what my facility told me; when I took a tour a couple weeks ago they said they were getting 8 more trainees before end of fiscal year. So there is a disconnect somewhere.

Yeah.. that seems to be the general word from other facilities as well. I had an ATM tell me he knew nothing of a training freeze and that he was expecting more trainees before October..

Could be that they're currently at the Academy or will be soon... to get in a facility by the end of this FY, you have until July to go to the Academy. So they may already have them lined up.

Might be true, but I hope not - 8 guys ahead of me by a couple months in seniority plus the 10-12 that already started last year; talk about getting the bad end of the stick every time we bid for RDO's and vacation.

So I called Annie at the Great Lakes Medical division today to check and see if my (our) mmpi results were in yet. She said there was still a delay and they haven't gotten anyone's results yet, but still are hoping to have the results by the 1st. She said call back after the 11th if I don't hear from my HR rep by then. I asked what the delay was and she said due to the new administration and funding issues that they don't buy the mmpi licensees in bulk anymore so it takes longer for them to process. Don't really understand that but okay.

I also got a reply from my rep, Brenda Rogers. I had inquired with her to see if she had heard anything and I asked if my facility was still hiring this fiscal year. She said that I'll be slotted the next available class date once my medical clears. I am headed to LCH, Lake Charles, LA.

Just wanted to post an update for what it's worth.

Just got off the phone- here's to waiting another three weeks for MMPI test results. Was told to call back the week of May 18th.

At least you got an answer Frez. I was told that they did not have the results in and that i should just wait to hear from my HR Rep. I guess they got tired of me calling.
