Re: ** Official "Slated for Next Fiscal Year (Oct. 2009)" Th

They switched 2 BTR people to MSY in May which is now on a hold as well. I think just about all the LA cities are on a hold now. I think a lake charles person just got a date.

my co-worker got lake charles.

anyway im surprised they sent anyone to MSY.

after katrina all of NEW's staff went there.(NEW got hit pretty hard and is STILL getting rebuilt.) most of them either stayed or transfered there afterwards.

hopefully after im through with NEW, MSY will have a slot open. otherwise im off to austin, TX...or if i REALLY have to, baton rouge.

Does anyone know what we do when our drug tests expire? I know we need to retake them but where do we go? Who do we contact? Does anyone know?

The sooner I can get my daughter and myself out of my parents' house and out of my terrible job, the better. :insane:

Re: ** Official "Slated for Next Fiscal Year (Oct. 2009)" Th

They will schedule you for another drug test once they have an academy date set up for you. Then once you pass the drug test retake they will send your FOL. At least that's the way I understand it. But they don't want you to do the drug test retake until they have an academy date for you in case you have to wait another 6 months and then the drug test retake expires too.

Direct from my HR rep last month:
"Drug tests are only good for 6 months. Your drug test will expire on (insert six months to the day after your PEPC date here). If you don't go to the academy before that date, you will be contacted by this office to obtain a new one prior to your class date."

Re: ** Official "Slated for Next Fiscal Year (Oct. 2009)" Th

I was told I had to wait until next fiscal year for Boston Tower, then I got redirected to Cape Approach. I just got an academy date of August 18th (pending another drug test).

Re: ** Official "Slated for Next Fiscal Year (Oct. 2009)" Th

Yeah, I'm pumped. I'm leaving for my drug test in a few minutes. Randomly about a month ago I got a TOL, amended for a different facility. After not being able to get into contact with my rep, I did some research and found out the facility is a good place to work. I signed it with no idea what would happen, I just assumed I would get an earlier date than FY10. So, if this happens to anyone, don't delay if you want to get to the academy!

Re: ** Official "Slated for Next Fiscal Year (Oct. 2009)" Th

Does anyone know where you can re-take the drug test after 6 months passes and your PEPC drug test expires? I'd rather not drive 600 miles back to Chicago just to take another drug test when I get my academy date.

Pretty sure they'll direct you to the nearest medical office that can handle you. I don't think they FAA does any of the testing anyways. Generally the samples get FedEx'ed to a lab somewhere.

I think you can go anywhere the FAA authorizes as a testing lab, which would probably be any Quest Diagnostics or other urinalysis clinic, but you'll get that information from your HR rep if/when the time comes for it to be retaken.

Re: ** Official "Slated for Next Fiscal Year (Oct. 2009)" Th

This was posted over on SM by Boomer. Some good info on the chart. Lists the basics classes for EnRoute, Terminal, and TRACON. EnRoute has quite a few October class dates. Terminal and TRACON, not so much. This schedule reflects what I'd heard previously though, that they were trying to push through more enroute people as quickly as possible.

Just got home from a tour of my future facility (ZOA). I'm ready to rock that joint. Now if only my HR rep would return my calls/emails...

Re: ** Official "Slated for Next Fiscal Year (Oct. 2009)" Th

So based on that chart... There are no October Terminal classes???

Is this true? Can anyone verify? I applied in April of 08.. if I have to wait til November or December I'm not gonna be a happy camper. Although...

I live in Boise and I'd much rather be here for College football season than OKC. Not much of a Sooners fan.. GO BSU!

Re: ** Official "Slated for Next Fiscal Year (Oct. 2009)" Th

Sounds like you don't really want the gig that bad. Move on to something else if you can't stand to be away from something as ridiculous as college football for a couple of months. Good grief!

Did I understand wrong? It sounded like the previous poster was complaining about not being happy if he had to miss Boise State football season. If that's so, better buckle up. There's going to be a lot of missed events in this career. Holidays, birthdays, weddings, etc. Real life takes over.

im pretty sure he's "looking at the bright side" and making a funny by making a blaintantly stupid remark.

in his defence, if you cant spot the strange humor, you should also buckle up for a nasty ride.

heres an example, i cant remember the guys name but hes a veteran posting in these forums. his signature explains it better that i ever could: "I refuse to limit my humor because of uneducated individuals" or something like that.
