Forgive my insensitivity, Nate. I wasn't encouraging or enjoying this wait, but simply trying to say what else can we do?

No harm intended. Hang in- Good things come to those who wait? Patience is a virtue? Sorry man, I hear you and I'm eager, regardless of age.

:yeahthat:

Okay, there is one guy in my class of 15 that is a former Marine. There are 2 people that were CTI but only made it thru 2 years of school before getting picked up OTS. The other 12 of us are OTS. And there are 5 girls 2 of which are moms to cute little ones that are 6 & 5.

I have no idea what people scored on their ATSATs. We do all talk about who met who at what PEPC but after the first day the only thing we talk about on our breaks is what we are studying and that the other class full of guys is always going out drinking.

Most of us study everyday before and every night after class. There is a group of 4 of us that meet at the Academy between 1200 and 1500 to study together. In 4 days we have covered 9 lessons and taken 8 tests. Tomorrow we are taking our 1st Block test over all 9 lessons.

Needless to say our first conversations are about how much we love it here, shortly followed by NAS, SEPARATION, RADAR, NOTAMS, AIRPORTS, ORDERS, TOWER, TRACON, ENROUTE, AFSS just to name a few. Doesn't really leave much time for ATSAT scores. Not being mean here just really doesn't even cross my mind with all the other things going on.....

Oh and then there is which Health plan and remembering to turn in Per diem and where are we meeting for the study group tomorrow....oh yea, Starbucks....gotta go.... I have to study....peace out...ROGER! NINER!!!!!

Yesterday, on my tour of ZNY, a prominent controller told me that there were several people working, training, and certified there who scored in the low 80s on their ATSATs.

It's good to hear information like this, but I'm not sure it's 100% accurate. The AT-SAT hasn't been in use for very long... around August 05? Assuming that someone got to OKC immediately after taking the test (which we know isn't the case), that would only give them a little better than 2.5 years to get certified.

The reality is they probably waited some months before getting to OKC, then spent 3 months in OKC. For the point of simplicity, let's call it a year. That would mean these people who scored low 80s achieved CPC in 2 years.

I'm not saying that it's not possible, but CPC in 2 years at ZNY?

I do apologize if I came off as perturbed towards you or anyone else. I was just stating my frustratuion towards the process. Everyday that passes without any word brings me anxiety. Don't get me wrong, if I don't make it due to the age issue, I will get over it. I do have a good job and I will move on. It is just that working in the aviation industry has been a dream of mine for a long time. I do not want to fly as career, because I will hate flying after so much time. My dad retired from the airlines, and towards the end of his career, he hated flying. It took me two years just get him back in a plane to enjoy flight. So, career flying is not an option. I love to enjoy flying, not treat it like a job or career. For me, non-flying aviation career is the way to go.

All I can do, as with everyone else, is wait and see. Again, please accept my apology if I came off as upset or whatever. :o

aw, everybody in here is so respectful. That makes coming to this forum that much more enjoyable. Anyways, I'm seriously betting that we get those emails on Monday. Anybody second that?:hiya:

MONDAY? I'm a betting man, but know nothing about this schedule. You're on- For all's sake let's hope you're right.

We need to do a Monday chant. That would be so awesome.

You're a betting man? Then OKC is the place for you! :) Who's up for putting our hard earned paychecks on a hand of Blackjack?...... .cricket, cricket. ... No? No takers? Ok... Did anyone else hear the rumor that the FAA is cutting its budget back so much that PEPC invites are now sent out by snail mail? No seriously... they tape your invite to an effing snail and hope to God it finds the right place... but actually what they're doing is making the washouts at OKC take an invite letter with them on the plane back home to give to one of the contestants pulled out of a hat at random chance who has had at least 1 but no more than 1.5 yrs of military experience, their social ends in a prime number, they have a DUI on their record, have had at least 3 dead end jobs, and who sat on the bench at least 50% of their little league careers...

THAT, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, IS HOW THE SELECTION PROCESS GOES!

...god I'm going insane...

clear skies and tailwinds

Average time of certification at ZNY=2.5 yrs.
Average time with present major influx of new hires=2.5-3yrs.

I'm 3 for 5, baby!

It's now afternoon on Friday in OKC. Likely the reps attending the panels have concluded their meeting and are in the process of trying to get home for the weekend.

Our future's have been decided. We're on the list or we're not. And the worst part of it is we won't know for weeks.

Well-put.

UPDATE:

I just spoke to Kim from Aviation Careers, she said the panel met for en-route this week (as you all know) and the emails come out 2-4 weeks after the panels meet. So they should hopefully come out in the next 2-4 weeks.
Sorry if you all already knew that. It was new information to me. Just a relief to stop looking daily because there will not be anything there.
