NYC PEPC peoples

Thanks to all who met up at th Hardrock Cafe at Times Square. If you were there, PM me your email address and I will make sure everyone can stay in touch.

Thanks to all the FAA staff for your wonderful hospitality!

couples things to add. If you want to prepare for the interview all I would suggest is to write down some questions for the interviewer. I was only able to come up with a couple on the spot. Second. They want you to pass. There were people that had to retake the hearing test multiple times and they took my BP twice. First was a tad high due to the excitement of the day so took some deep breaths closed my eyes and she took it again. You make it this far and the job is yours to lose. so unless you go crazy on someone you should be good.

just curious because a few people have mentioned it, what was your BP that they considered a little high that they retook it?

I think high is something like 140 and it has to be under that I think.

Is that the general consensus?

That is correct mine was 142 and then dropped to 134

They know it is a stressful process even though it is a relatively relaxed atmosphere. I asked the nurse what it needed to be and this was her response "I am not going to tell you because we arent going to worry about that ##### now close your eyes and take some deep breaths." :laff:

Just made the walk to see how far it actually is...apparently the faa likes to put their building in the middle of a ghetto...

ohh its not that bad.

i jut felt awkward being the only one walking in where cars should be coming in at.

infact the guards there were kind of puzzled as well!

and as for you Aperfectcircle, murphy beat me to death with a bat the last few days. i missed my first flight, my second flight missed my layover, then when i got to the room, i dropped pizza on my suit and tie.

God just didnt want me to be prepared that day:banghead:

congrats on the TOL Ferret...thanks to everybody bringing in the info this week, i'm not nervous at all about tomorrow :nana2::nana2:

Did anyone else get like 4 forms from their HR rep to fill out today? BR emailed me a crap ton. I thought it was over till OKC. Damn.

Anyone that gets this and wants to meet for breakfast in the hotel lobby at 6:30 on Friday morning, I'll be there. Look for the guy in the suit with the yellow shirt. :)

Yep! I got the same 4 forms. Gotta FAX them to Mr. Danny so it seems.

When they took my BP it was 143/90. I was like CRAP! But the nurse said not to worry about it, we went and did the drug test, came back to the BP and it had dropped to 130/80. Nerves... they just get you at the worst times!

Yeah, lol, no joke, on the BP - I squeezed in at 140/90 (it's 140/100). Every one of the experienced controllers at the PEPC are awesome and totally try to make you feel comfortable and they all seem to really want to see you pass and join the club. I really felt like a little brother being led along by my older siblings.

If you're a pre PEP-C controller you just have to remember a few things: 1. It's pronounced "pepsi" 2. Everyone wants you to be there! 3. Relax and enjoy it - no one wants you to fail!

Goodluck and congrats to everyone who recieved a TOL!!!

What are the forms about? I didn't get anything. Just want to make sure they're not something I filled out earlier.
It may just be specific to our HR rep and when they send them out. There was an FAA Fact sheet, Employment agreement, OF0306, and SF144. Simple stuff.

Pilot- I do believe I was at your PEPC. I'm usually pretty good at names, but remember no one from the PEPC. ha. From upstate NY, right?

The HR Rep that gave me my TOL was really nice. Told her I was trying to get married in early May. She looked up LFT specifically for me and told me I'd be just fine, but to make sure it's in early May. So maybe that May 21 class will be open. That'd be good. Hopefully I'll see you at the academy, if not I'll definitely see you at work.

Gotcha. I did the OF-306 but not those other ones.

Congrats on getting married! I'm sure your wife/husband will be glad to have a gainfully employed spouse! :D
