I have met many JCers who are just great guys - I would happily go and have a beer with each of them.

MikeD - do they still have the transfer program with the RAF on the F117?

Don't know, though I could find out.

Re: Very Grateful!

Talking about meeting other JCers ...
This past Dec. I was on a trip to Monterey CA and struck up a conversation with a couple of pilots haveing dinner next to my copilot and myself. I wasn't swift enough to put 2 and 2 together because if I would have I would have known I was talking to Johnnyb alias Sean Archer. We figured it out later and regreted not making the conection and enjoying a little more time together.

And in another real world / small world story ...
I get a phone call today from a pilot looking to settle in my neck of the woods and will be looking for a job. He got my name through a mutual friend. During the conversation I find out he's an A-10 pilot stationed in AZ, and knows and speaks very highly of MikeD, his name is John Cummings, he says hi to you Mike.

Re: Very Grateful!

Hey Lloyd
If he was flying a King Air you should beat him up just because ... I bet if you just growl at him he'd piss himself.

Stan
You never call anymore ...
Not sure of when we'll be down again. Our plane goes down July 5 for about 8 weeks for Phase 5 inspection ( major ) and repaint and rerag the interior as well as TCAS II and TAWS / EGPWS installation. Nice timeing as the kids are out of school and we can do some serious summer vacationing.

Jim,

I am not sure who you fly for, but say during these 2 months the plane is down, if they need to go somewhere do they just charter from a local FBO to wherever they need to go?

Re: Very Grateful!

Yes
During this "down" time we will charter flights as needed. We are considering Leasing a plane for the time ... but I hope we don't as I would like the vacation opportunity.

LOL!

John "Sider" Commings is my old Flight Commander from the 354th, "D" Flight. Good guy. He and I would butt heads occasionally, but we got along with each other well.

Re: Very Grateful!

MikeD? Butt heads? Naah, say it ain't so!

BTW, I think you're on the watch list up here in SDL!

Am I not allowed to any more meetings up there?

Re: Very Grateful!

Heck, you've been an Arizona resident for what, 32 years? I might have to provide covering fire for you at the next airport meeting, but I've got your back, homey!

Re: Very Grateful!

Jim is a super guy and I also enjoyed my nickel tour of the Citation ... a heck of a nice bird. If you find your way through STL/SUS in the next few weeks I'll be around.

Re: Very Grateful!

Revive this thread:

Well I met another JC'er today. Aloft is in town and he came by and we flew our Sim today. As I thought, a top notch guy.
