Non-revs in Business/First

Yes, that kind of elitism is annoying, not only in its mindset, but often too in it's condescending delivery tone, aimed at the obviously lower forms of peon life the person is usually referring to.
"Do you know who I am!!!"

I doubt it, but okay. :)
Come to SFO and talk to the no less than 50 UA agents who make multiple trips to MNL every month between HKG and NRT and ask what their reaction would be if the company said "No more first/biz for you overseas, kthxbai!". On top of the union fire storm that would follow, and seeing as most of them have second jobs that pay much better or wealthy spouses, you may be surprised. But what do I know having only worked along side these people for the last 4 years, you're probably right.

I also don't care where I sit. I've ridden in First on several occasions. But I've also been in a middle seat on an Alaska 737 doing the six hour ANC-ORD redeye. Or on the second cockpit jumpseat in an SWA 737, practically straddling the captain's shoulders.

I got stuck doing this once.....and I was in a SKIRT (my bag was checked under the plane) The other jumpseater was 6" shorter than me and in pants and he INSISTED on taking the good js. No chivalry among pilots, I guess. Had to hike my skirt up to obscenity to straddle the captain...and sadly that is not as exciting as it sounds! :(

I am right! Everyone wants to burn it to the ground until it's time to willingly put yourself on the street. You'll all march around SFO saying how you'll cause the cancellations of hundreds of flights by walking off en masse, but it'll never happen.

This thread just became worthless without pictures.

As you know, there are some people at the airlines who only work at their job because of the travel benefits. That is the group he is talking about and he is right.

There are! I know some.

They're not pilots, but there are certainly some people that, without the ability to do so, would certainly quit.

Me too! I've pretty much admitted to posting for entertainment value, but yet, people still come at me like spider monkeys. :) I wonder if it'll continue, even after I've said it now twice outright!

I knew you had to be trolling, but the problem with THIS subject is outsiders read this and go "ZOMGZ WHY DO AIRLINE EMPLOYEES GET TO DO THAT?! I'LL NEVER FEEL SORRY FOR THEM AGAIN!" then cause a problem on their next flight from XNA-ATL or whatever. Chemtrails, well that's another story.

Actually, it started out as a serious topic, but it was just so easy to keep it rolling with a bottle of wine and a keyboard. ;)

I still think many airline employees are very lacking on customer service; some of the serious answers to my posts weren't surprising.

What I wonder is why Doug allows people to post when they admit that they are doing it for no other reason than to troll. Such people should be banned. They detract from the environment here, which is usually so much better than the other forums filled with trolls.

Petition Congress to stop me. :)

(Can't a guy have a little fun once in a while?)

Broheim, I told Doug directly what I was doing. You wanna be "that guy" anyway, go right ahead!

I can't comment on how other airlines upgrade non-rev passengers, but at US Airways it's typically not free. Domestic upgrades are $20, and international is $100 per segment. Obviously not a lot of money, but an additional way to generate some revenue off of a potentially empty seat.
