No more Brasilias at SkyWest...

I haven't proposed anything. A true proposal would be comprehensive and provide protections to the whole group.

But brainstorming by definition will come up with LOTS of bad ideas, and a few good ones. If you "tar and feather" anyone who tries to propose new ideas, you'll put a big ole' chill on novel concepts. You shouldn't shame people for spitballing.

This idea wasn't just bad. It was offensive.

Did you ever hear the true story of Laber flaming out an engine on short final going into CLD? lol, he took a picture of the fuel gauge showing fuel to prove he didn't do it on purpose. Saved his job.

Oh yeah, he did our type rides and told us the whole story. Turned out they did discover some malfunction in the quantity measuring system, so he was further cleared of any wrong doing.

Hell even the metro liner was "The Shizz" during one period. Why would you want to slog around in a Chieftain when you can get there faster in a sleek "jet prop" and have time for a proper coffee before connecting in LAX.

I don't even know what's going on any more.

You have a lot to be proud of in this thread. A lot of the people in this thread were snot nosed college kids and flight instructors a while back. And now they are fussy mainline pilots "damn kids get off my lawn" types. :)

Gone are the days where JC can be labeled as nothing but regional pilots.

When I was a snot nosed college kid all we had was AOL, Prodigy, and local BBSs... And we had to tie up the phone line to log on! Uphill both ways.

My eight year old told me yesterday that Skype was OLD and now everyone uses Facetime. I was like, "hey when I was a kid the only one who had a video phone was Captain Kirk!"

Maybe it's just because it's my first (and so far only) non-flight school twin, but I still love flying the chieftain. Great handling airplane and just fast/complex enough to keep me awake.

I'm still waiting on that Star Trek beaming technology. ..although it will essentially put us out if business. :)

And Netscape....

I hand flew once a day...if it happened to be SFO-ACV so be it...no problem.

It could be done. It just required a lot more attention than the other aircraft I had hand flown at the time.

I loved hand flying visuals in it though. My most favorite experience in the plane was flying the right downwind visuals into MKJS.

Air-conditioning and often a nice lady in the back to bring you snacks. Two things that helped us whine less. Sounds like a man's airplane to me!! :D
ring ring...hey there darlin' would you mind bringin' up my orange juice about now? Thanks, love....see ya in a sec.
