No furloughs at Pinnacle?

Word on the street is that Pinnacle Airlines Corporation is losing 30 pilots a day. With that they may not need to furlough and actually hire when they are done with this process. Interesting if (and I hope it is) true.

Hopefully that is true. Although wasn't the low number (500) factoring attrition? Or am I just confusing rumors with other info? It's hard to keep track!

Sent 250 from the bottom......

I haven't heard 30 a day. That would be almost 900 guys in a month. I have heard that we are losing anywhere between 20 and 30 a month. Someone else figured out that we would need to see 60 guys a month leave to make it so we don't need to furlough.

30 a month, unless every gave the company a blank you friday on one day out of the month. Certainly the attrition will get higher and higher, but 30 a day? Maybe one day out of the month in some sort of strange freak event.

Even still, a lot of people hunkering down and are planning on waiting for a recall. I really hope hiring at "better" jobs picks up towards the end of the year. Maybe help alleviate these furloughs.

If we were losing 30 a day, I'd wager most are on the bottom of the list or close to it. Getting a head start on the flush I would assume. I know I'd be considering it if I were in that position. Right now, it looks like a reduction of 46 FO positions and adding 15-20 CA spots, all CRJ-200.

We were losing about 30/mo until the announcement. As of yesterday afternoon on we are at 27 so far in April.

Besides the few that went to Spirit/Virgin, where are people going?? Is it mostly junior FOs jumping ship for other regionals or are there still majors out there hiring??

Other regionals. RAH is the big one. Skywest and ExpressJet as well.

Debating Express or Skywest myself. I just do not wanna commute to reserve for $23/hour. Alternative is finish my MBA and incur quite a bit more student debt. Hopefully Barry will just pay for it.

Two points. Not many signs reading "MBA Needed NOW! Get paid today!" around town and the regionals aren't the only game in the business.
