Well, I'm not proclaiming that this place is better - yet. Keeping in mind that everyone drinks some kool-aid the first couple of months. But - so far - the training has been more organized and better put together then Colgan. Including the accomodations and what you are paid while here. The training materials and Company manuals are much better as well. Studying is a lot easier thanks to the organization.
I just got the Jungle jet FMS book today. Ouch. :banghead:
I think I miss the Beech already.![]()
Here's how the PCL scope clause in the contract reads: "Any flying done by Pinnacle Airlines, Inc or A COMPANY IN POSSESSION OF PINNACLE AIRLINES, INC must be done by pilots on the Pinnacle Airlines, Inc seniority list." Well, Pinnacle Holdings is "in poseesion of Pinnacle Airlines, Inc" and Colgan does flying for them. Guess what? By our scope clause, that flying has to be done by pilots on the Pinnacle Airlines, Inc seniority list. That's how I read it, and that's evidentally how the ALPA lawyers read it, too.
Now, you'll hear some guys screaming "Staple 'em!," especially after the failed union drive. In fact, part of the argument for the union was in case we won the scope grievance, there would be a seniority list integration precedent. Without both being ALPA carriers, you're (at best) at the mercy of an arbitrator. My personal feeling is we integrate the list with fences so BOTH pilot groups get to keep their growth and upgrades going. Our scope clause gets honored, the company loses you guys as a whipsaw tool, and you suddenly get the benefit of an ALPA negotiated contract. Well, not YOU, Airdale.
