New Job!

Hey guys,
After what felt like a long year and a half of instructing, I finally got a job as an aerial mapping pilot for a large mapping company up in the bay area flying 206s. I started training 2 and a half weeks ago, and I only have 2 days left! I had no idea what to expect out of this job, but so far, I am definitely impressed. Everyone there is extremely nice and helpful, and they have their SOPs set up just like a 135/121. This should help me in the future when I go wherever I go. The schedule is 7 on/ 7 off, so I'm really happy about that. Best of all, they allow me to stay here in LA, because they airline me out of LAX to wherever airplane I'm assigned is. Im looking forward to gaining experience flying all around the country, and meeting new people. I was getting super burnt out of instructing, and this job fell onto my lap right when I needed it. It really is all about making connections in this industry. Thanks to JetCareers for the positive influence and reassurance you all have given me!

Good group of pilots. Schedule is amazing.

Which rotation you wind up on?

Enjoy it! It will be some of the most fun you will have flying... My current trip has taken me from Florida out to Phoenix, up the California/Oregon coast where I stayed in Crescent City and went exploring the redwoods, over to Spokane, WA where I got to see the B-17 "Memphis Belle", then to Billings, MT... Then SLC and I spent the weekend in GCN exploring the Grand Canyon. Now I'm in Flagstaff and I'm about to head back over to L.A. this afternoon. This trip has been minimal work and maximum relaxation time. Feels like a paid vacation.
