Howdy all,
Recently, I was flying towards MSP bravo airspace with some passengers. I figured that asking for 'over-the-top' of the MSP field was the most scenic. The controller cleared it, and we had our nice scenic view of MSP. Strangely enough, when I asked to terminate flight following (VFR) when I was near my destination airport, the controller added in an approving tone, "##D, I have to say great work on your communication and following through with instructions as asked, have a great night, squawk VFR... ect"
I was quite honestly blown away by a mid-air compliment (butterflies and all). But is there some new initiative for controllers to be more happy or compliment the positive actions? This is the first time I've heard anything like it.
Thanks a bunch,
Hog
