New Great Lakes crew bases

We've got benefits on both, since we're cross-utilized sometimes. But they also will not deadhead us on one partner to cover flying for the other. Sucks at times, but I suppose it makes sense.

I wanted to ask a Mesa guy if they got benefits on both. So you guys dont have it based on your base?

I am out of Dulles so I only get United, however they have no problem sending me to do US Airways flying, even though I dont get any Airways benefits.

We get both on the Dash as well, for cross utilization purposes. Although I let my US Airways expire because they wanted money for it.

Would love to fly a 1900 out of MKE again, if the pay wasn't complete (you know what). You Lakes folks need to work on that!

Trust me...we know. We just over threw the teamsters and are putting in a new union. Our current contract was voted down 100% by the pilots and we still got stuck with it. Hopefully the UTU can bargin for us for better pay and work rules.

On a different note the bid awards are out. Im moving to Farmington.

I lived in Farmington for a year, I was at Mesa's program there, it wasn't a bad place to live in retrospect.

BIL flying is all done out of Denver... BIL was a TDY base for a while, and I could see it being a base in the future. we just need more planes

I saw BIL lines when I was looking through the april bids. Is BIL going to be TDY next month? The pairings didnt start in Denver.

I was talking to what's her face in crew planning...Holly I think? She said there will still be some TDY stuff out of BIL and that the lines in FMN will eventually probably be around 90 hours with 14 days off. I guess the real flying stuff out of FMN doesn't start until the 7th of April so the first week is probably going to be mostly reserve stuff for the guys in FMN and the lines in April don't look as good as they will end up being in May and the following months. I asked why MCI wasn't a base and they said they came really close to making it one but the markets in that area aren't doing that great so they decided not to do it for now. It could happen in the future. That's about all I know.

Yeah, I don't know if you got displaced or not taildragger, but if you did the fist week in APR will be your moving days. Be sure to get as much as you can out of it, look at the contact.

I'm wondering how this will pan out with the new hires. Since FMN is now full, are they able to bid it? From what I understand you can not move to another Domicile unless there is a vacancy, and you cant bump someone regardless of Sr. unless you yourself are displaced.

On another note: Dave, hang around FMN long enough and you might end up flying with a crazy captain.

Tony~ I'll be down there, you just pass upgrade and I'll let you sit on my lap... See ya in FMN.
