I retread this entire thread earlier tonight, taking the first real breather I've had in weeks. Looking forward to (sort of) taking the weekend off. I'm sure this thread is more interesting to me than an outside observer, but it contains much that highlights past eagle history, past ALPA thinking, the present situation and how this segment of the industry is "changing".
I'm sure some of the usual suspects will come on here and tell everyone how misguided I am, how stupid present MEC leadership is and how we are in a world of hurt. They were wrong when they held office, they were wrong yesterday when they were fighting the "no" vote/selling the "yes, and they will continue to be wrong tomorrow.
I'm tremendously proud of my Eagle pilots, the way they participated over 90% (and I didn't have to buy anyone a drink, lol!) and they way they voted. Another dimension of the com going into this voting decision by the pilots is that no one believes that the no vote is an end, or that it will usher in peace. 70% voted no knowing that things almost certainly will get more turbulent before they smooth out - we made sure that that was communicated and they voted the way they did in spite of that fact.
To the eagle pilots and FFD pilots here, now is the time to stand strong.
