New Cessna...Cirrus Killer

The RG is ok. The straight-leg w/180hp is not too good at power off landings though, I grant you that.

I don't know why people are talking about Cardinals, so far what was describer above is a turbocharged Centurion (T-210)

Like I said above, I doubt a brand new T-210 could compete, cost wise, to a Cirrus. Some of the '86 models currently cost more to buy than a brand new Cirrus. Then again, I'm rarely right!

Brand new Cirrus SR-22 is going for 500k+ around here.

$450,000 is the new price with every option and $350,000 standard (atleast that's what the website shows). I was looking at SR-20's earlier which is what confused me. The most expensive '86 T210R I've seen is $300,000 and that's 20 years older than the Cirrus with much older avionics (it does have a 530). I would imagine brand new that airplane would be selling for $700,000 or so. Again, I could be way off base, if I am just tell me what you think.

Have a good day,

Alex.

Retractables are dead, IMHO. There is absoloutely no need for retractable gear in a light, single engine GA aircraft anymore.
Except for that pesky li'l complex requirement for your commercial ticket...

Are they going to put a chute on it, so it will be an all-weather IFR severe icing and turbulence machine like the Cirrus?

People who are buying this new cessna don't care about a commercial ticket.
