Need a Loc back course App

You must be configured and on speed by FAF (ASHIE) and ready to descend in IFR or you are behind the ball, for reals!

If you want some extra time in an arc to the back course, try RDD (Redding California) I think it's to RW16 andyou have plenty of time to work the arc but must do a freq change as you transition to the loc (the dme is off the VOR) additionally, the feeder to the arc is at a 60 degree angle, so you must think ahead about that as well.

Have fun and we're all counting on you!
I own the RWY 16 LOC BC at KRDD!

lot of good stuff guys. Did the sim ride with the guy and for some reason the Sim had issues with BC. The software apparently didn't want to believe that you can pick up the LOC on the back course. Got one or two to work, but that was it. Oh well, still got tipped anyway.

What kind of sim is it?

My favorite is the LOC/DME BC-B into Medford Oregon MFR. It is a fairly hard approach to do, Especially if you don't see the runway till late the VDP is pretty crazy if you figure it.

Did that one a few times. No kidding about wanting to see the airport sooner than later for the VDP. I like flying down that canyon during the summer on a VFR day though. Pretty.

KORL LOC Backcourse 25 at Orlando Executive.

Watch out for the mandatory altitudes at 1,500' and 1,100'.

Heh. Got that one when I had been at FLX for about a minute. Don't think I'd ever actually flown a localizer backcourse at all. "Uh, hmm, this seems to be indicating that I'm over HERE, but I know I'm over HERE...oh. right." Good times.
