Need a Job?

mooneyguy

been around forever
I'm Curious, I see a lot of guys here on JC looking for work, yet this section Jobs needed doesn't seem to get many post. At least it seems like there are more "lookers" then there are people posting here. Like me for instance. Due to some situations outside my control right now I still do not have much time (under 1000tt and just over 60Multi), and I'm tied to San Antonio right now. I know there are not many (as in NONE) options for me right now... except keep bouncing around in the right seat of a cessna trying not to let a student kill me;-).
However, I alway's talk to everyone who crosses my path looking for available jobs. Even if I don't qualify, I try to pass the info along to someone who does. Like last week, I met a guy who fly's a citation (currently single pilot) who's company might by an XLS. They would then be in need of an FO. This is a long shot right now and is months away, they're just now in the market for a new plane.

My thinking is this, I know there are more lookers, then posters...so if you are looking for work, reply, post what your looking for, your experience, what you would like to do and where you would like to do it.

If you don't tell someone your looking, how can you be helped.

Experience working the ramps, cargo and passenger. Limited sales experience, but work with executive staff and marketing.

Really looking for someplace I can get a steady job and start a family. I don't want to be in 14 different cities and home on bad weather days.

Now with that being said, I'm willing to fly overseas with up to 6 on, 1 off (months).

Would love even a desk job in:

Madison, WI
Tucson, AZ
Washington DC
or
Boston if it came to it.

Not willing to settle for less than $45,000/yr as I have way too many student loans.

Looking for anything out of Denver with a base pay of 45,000 and a chance for a paid ATP and type. I am willing to move anywhere and fly anything for the right price. I am young and single, looking for a little better quality of life and some exciting adventures!

BA Applied Psychology, looking for pretty much anything in the airline industry. I'm not a pilot nor any other type of certificated airman (I eventually plan to be), but I would like to find some sort of airline job where the company will actually respond to my application/resume in some form or fashion unlike the 20 odd places I have already applied. I would actually like to work overseas, but only if the pay would support me in some fashion. I'm considering a flight attendant position but so far am having no luck with those applications...

In a nutshell:

I have an ATP (MEL), CE500 Type, Commercial (SEL), CL-65 SIC, and B1900 SIC. (and a expired CFI)

Part 121 Level D Sim Time:...............81 Hrs.
Cross Country:................................2230 Hrs.

I'm a furloughed 121 guy... worked at two airlines, Skyway and Mesa. I was also a commercial LoadMaster for a few years at Southern Air (basically lived in the back of a 747...) and I have a background in Air/Ocean Freight Forwarding and Operations. (along with time working in media production in L.A. - and a completely useless degree in the same from LMU)

In order of preference, but I wouldn't turn down any good paying job; I would like to work overseas - corporate or airline environment, return to the 121 world, corporate/135 flying, and really just about anything. The schedule doesn't matter to me - I don't mind long deployments. (as long as I have a few good books and my computer) I can move anywhere for the right job, but I also commuted across the country for 3 years and can do it again with a smile.

I'm about 20 minutes from Van Nuys (in no traffic) - really 40 minutes outside of rush hour. And close to Camarillo airport also... anything local would be great. (skydivers, corporate... anything)

I've been sending out apps for lots and lots of jobs, no bites yet. I'm just looking to get back in the cockpit.

Good Luck everyone I'll jump in too...

Miami area but I'll relocate for the right job, I'd like to make at least $3K or more per month...

These posts are not so much for the employer, per say, but more along the lines that there may be someone looking through the posts that knows someone hiring, its more about networking with other pilots out there, not networking directly to the employers.

No employer will come knock on your door and ask if you want a job, especially in this economy!

Finally the voice of reason lol, I was wondering if I was gna have to post that. It's all about who ya know, just b/c ya have the time doesn't mean you're going to get a job. Either people like ya or people don't. :bandit:

Agreed.... I just got back to Dallas and checking my contacts in the area it looks pretty grim for the Dallas-Ft Worth metroplex. But, that being said, things are starting to move and the only way to get a job in this market is to start kicking the rocks over.
