Need a Job?

These posts are not so much for the employer, per say, but more along the lines that there may be someone looking through the posts that knows someone hiring, its more about networking with other pilots out there, not networking directly to the employers.

That is the whole idea! If that XLS job materializes and I can help a guy/girl get it, I just made a friend, and hopefully some day maybe it will happen in return. I try every chance I can get to help the next guy out.

Mooneyguy Congrats on your idea it is after all all about who you know and getting your network working. If even one person gets a lead off of this post it is worth thousands! I am behind you.
That being said I am currently awaiting class start date with one of the airlines but will post the times anyway.

No employer will come knock on your door and ask if you want a job, especially in this economy!
that's not true....not by a long shot. make the right connections, self-market yourself virally and in person and you never know if someone you've already met (ie: an employer) will come calling because you have what he wants or needs.

I believe at this point in time it's a matter of luck or knowing somebody. PERIOD. A bunch of time doesn't seem to be the biggest issue. Sure it MAY make some opportunities easier to come by, but it's not the end all.

For the low time guys like me, there are jobs out there. I happend to get VERY LUCKY by being in a city that a company was looking to hire a SIC in a Convair 5800. Right place right time.

What I also would say is that make for damn sure you are always ready to interview. I almost got burned in my interview on some silly questions about the 172 electrical systems, and I instruct in the things. Just always be ready so when the call comes you don't jack it up.

Low timers like me.... I'll say it again, there are opportunities available. In the last 2 months here are opportunities that I was offered and rejected.

1. Flight instructor in San Diego
2. The Key Lime air job flying a Metro and Lear
3. A job flying a research Comanche
4. Flight Instructor at ATP

I'm not trying to do anything other than keep hope alive!

Agreed- but somebody here might see someone that'd be a good fit for something we see.

Yesterday I found out a client of my brother-in-law just bought a Pilatus PC-12. Has one staff pilot, one contract backup.
If that were to open up or expand.... I could throw it to somebody here.
... but only if I knew they were looking.

Living in MO, recently cut from a 141 due to lack of students for summer.

Pushing 1000 TT, 65 ME, all the CFI certs plus an SIC type.

Looking for anything decent that pays. Trying to find something south of the Mason-Dixon line (it gets kind of cold above that...)

FlightSafety TUS was looking for an SIC/Support Crewmember a few weeks ago. I applied and got rejected, but FlightSafety Savannah called me for an SIC position for their Gulfstream sims. I think each training center makes its own decisions, but it might be worth to check in with the TUS guys and see what the status is.

You would be correct. Each kind of does its own thing as needed, and seem to get contracts individually. For example, our C550 initial training is at the LGB facility, while recurrent is at the SAT facility.
