NDB entry?

Not completely gone yet - I actually got a route clearance amendment with a direct to an NDB a few weeks ago coming out of Myrtle Beach. Of course, with GPS instead of ADF, I didn't even notice it was an NDB until after I loaded it and look at the chart.

that's what I mean. if I come from the East side, by the time I realize I passed the NDB (assuming no gps or anything else) my turn northbound would have me pretty far off course. This is how we executed it but when we did I couldn't help but think we were doing something wrong.

At least coming from the East you overshoot into the protected side (the side the PT goes)

What about coming from the west, what would be the procedure there?
If you have a VOR use the YEG R-008 to know when you are approaching the NDB. When your within two dots start your turn to 347 outbound.

Question for the OP. The NDB the approach is based on XD instead of zxd. That is normally how LOM are named. Doesn't seem like it is a LOM. So is this just a Canadian thing or was there once a N/S runway with a LOM? (appears to be the outline of a n/s runway in the diagram.

There was a runway there and I'm sure it used to be the LOM for the ILS there, but there used to previously be an NDB approach to the runway using xd, and now its a circling NDB approach to 12/30
