National Museum of the USAF

The National Museum of the USAF (aka the WPAFB Museum) has some pretty cool stuff on their website. Here's a link to some 360 degree cockpit views and other virtual tours and things.
The museum would make a cool place to have a meet and greet or something too.

I got lucky and had a long layover in Dayton last week, Such an amazing place! and FYI for anyone going you have to sign up to see the presidential planes and experimental planes (must see XB-70A Valkyrie) the sign up location is at the exit of the WWII aircraft exhibit.

And its FREE admission!

Really nice!!! Thanks for posting this. Just did a quick look see of the B-25 cockpit tour. This is going to be hours of enjoyment!

I have never enjoyed an aviation museum more than the Air Force Museum. That includes Boeing's.

Have they moved the XB-70 back out of the annex? Last time I was there it was in the annex which you could only get to that part of the museum if you had an id to get on base. That was several years ago though. The other most amazing Lockheed creation worth seeing is the YF-12, an SR-71 that shoots.

the last couple visits that I did they bus you around the base perimeter to the annex, I didn't have a military id.

On a side note if anyone has a layover and has a hotel who won't take you let me know..... I'd be game to drive up and go as well........ Obviously I could pick you up......
