My new book! ^.^

I was late getting into the book but I have it now. Since you're looking for some initial feedback, I'll give you some initial thoughts although I am not finished with it and thus I reserve the right to change my mind on any of this at any time.

You've challenged me. I've not read anthropomorphized characters like this before (Animal Farm does not count.) This is making my brain do things it hasn't done to date, and it's kind of neat. That alone scores you lots of points.

Once I'm further through it or finished, I will send you something detailed via PM.

Finally got around to posting this review:

I'm not as regular sci-fi reader and besides Watership Downs or Animal Farm I haven't read many books where all the characters were animals and I thoroughly enjoyed this novel.

Fox paints a vivid, complex, outer-space world with enough detail to make it interesting but without getting into Tolkien-like minutia sacrificing detail for content. Throughout the book I could see the world he envisioned and he crafted the story in such a way that walking, talking, human-like animals seemed natural in it.

The story line is a captivating mystery. Through the book I kept wanting to know more, and I enjoyed the way the author wove separate yet related elements into a nicely blended outcome. I didn't expect the book to be so suspenseful and full of intrigue and I really enjoyed each new surprise when they came along.

The characters really made this book enjoyable though. Although the hero(ine?) is certainly a likeable yet tortured complex character, I felt drawn to some of the supporting cast. I enjoyed watching, as the story developed, these characters growing, becoming more complex, and ultimately moving the story to its culmination.

Definitely worthy of five stars, and I recommend this book to just about anyone.

@MikeFavinger — I just wanted to say thanks, from the bottom of my heart, for taking the time to read and review. Both mean a lot to me, but a story is nothing without a listener ... and so I'm grateful for allowing me to tell you a story. ^.^

Working on the next book between flights as we speak.

~Fox
