My new book! ^.^

I know it's completely and totally unrelated to aviation ... and if it's inappropriate for the forum, please feel free to delete it and accept my apologies.

But...

I wanted to pimp my first book, which is available in paperback or Kindle version as of a few days ago!
Warning! Science fiction! ~.^

Free for the weekend on Kindle. ^.^

(I would very much welcome opinion)

(My rationale is that there is a lot of stuff in here that's very unrelated to aviation ... I hope it's ok to post this, because this forum is kindof a second home for me.)

It looks pretty good, I'll have to check it out. Self publish? I've also written a book, deep in self editing process. Then I might do the whole Smashwords thing.

Congrats. Finishing a full length novel is no easy task. As @SeatClutcher would no doubt agree.

Technically "kind-of". I created a publishing company, because I have similar-genre stuff from other authors that I'm considering publishing as well, but my book is currently the only one I have out.

It's the first in a series set in its universe. The sequel is sitting at ~70k words, and I have a few novellas and an interstitial (?!) written ... just need to figure out what to do with those. So many stories to tell!

I look forward to reading yours when you get it out.

Very cool. I'm gonna have to check this out. I too have been working on a sci-fi book. How did you go about creating your own publishing company? Id be interested to know the process. I have no clue what to do with the story once its done.

If any of yall find the time to read it, I would be forever grateful if you'd let me know what you thought. :>

Congrats.

Picked up for my Kindle. Now to put down Instrument Rating books and make some time to read this!

BIG # 1. Slap a copyright notice on it so it's less likely to get ripped off. Copyright 2013, Your Legal Name. All Rights Reserved. You don't have to register it with the Copyright Office until you need to bring legal action to enforce your rights (but you can't collect damages from the time between publication and registration). The date is the year in which it is first offered publicly, a somewhat foggy notion. It matters in late December, and/or if someone says "I got there first."

2. Find an agent. Lots of books & magazines to help here.

3. If #2 is taking too long, self-publish. Lots of ....

4. Wrap it up securely and put it on a high shelf in a closet.

5. Write the next one. Repeat.
