You get the jet Joe?

All the XJT captains that I fly with that were on the ATR back in the CoEx days absolutely loved flying that aircraft. It kinda makes me sad I may never fly a turboprop.

Yeah, we dont find out for sure until Monday, but after we put in our bids we figured it out amongst the class. I should be in the 700.
 
Loved my 2 and a half years flying the ATR-42 at AE.... we routinely flew it into Key West and San Salvador ( Club Med charter ) out in the Bahamas..... fun flying.

San Salvador--was that a flaps 45 airport? I think we still had to carry charts for it when I was there (even though Eagle no longer goes there), but wasn't the runway ridiculously short?

Thats what the ALPA reps told us at the welcome pizza party.

Cant wait to start flying that thing. Apparently its so cheap to fly they do part of training in it. So my first landing won't be with passengers in the back. I was the youngest in my class by 7 months so I got teased for a couple minutes lol. "Wait, are you old enough to fly a jet?" Stuff like that. All fun and games.
 
Congrats on getting the ATR! Flying a prop puts hair on your chest and will make you a much rounded pilot long term, in my opinion. You should want your first jet to have three or more flight attendants.

Congrats again, but don't get your hopes set on that bonus check. The way I understand it, it only goes to active employees employed at the day the TA was reached.
 
You lucky SOB! I've flown a turboprop, but I still yearn for an ATR! If they brought the ATR or Q400 on property, you betcha I'd bid it in a heartbeat. Enjoy the BETA time... You won't know until a few years from now how much you'll appreciate each hour you flew the thing. Congrats!!! :D
