Wow. My rating is going to be 3K and 10 hours. I'm at 6 an just now starting to feel confident enough to handle an emergency. Sounds like some of the places are just pencil whipping people to the check ride. I guess they figure every one is going the get the proper training you need when they get to the airlines.
Even Action Multi engine ratings is 7 hours. I just can't imagine being ready for a check ride in 4 hours or less. I'm sure it can be done, but how competent of a pilot would you be?
Most places I rent from even require at least 5 hours for check out in a complex aircraft.
I can relate to what 'youre saying. I'm looking to get my MEI add on and haven't touched a multi engine plane since 2005. I'm working on getting all the book stuff out of the way now, so, when it comes to flying...that's all I have to concintrate on.
