Most recent talks between Envoy MEC and AAG end without agreement

At this point, it would just be a novel idea if American just did all the E175 flying in house. No staffing issues there. ;) I mean with the AA/US merger you will have E190s on their operating certificate anyways. :stir: These E-Jet series really muddy the waters between "regional" and mainline....

Remember that those Ejets started on the USAirways operating certificate. It's still an approved fleet type (at least until they merge with the AA certificate). That said, if they can operate them for a whole lot less at a regional, they will.

I know, right? Because EMB-175's like, MUST be bigger than CRJ-900's because they have engines under the wings!!!

Well the E-Jet series is really in the same size category as the DC-9 and 717 category... CRJ Series as a whole is a little smaller, but yes also the CRJ-700/900s are pretty large as well...

Might want to check the numbers.
175 and 900 are within 1k in all numbers.

Maybe ORD for Compass's 175s? You're gonna love the bumblebee vests, goofy ground/cockpit interphone comms and other AA "quirks"...Not saying it is wrong, just different than what most of us are accustomed to.

As these guys said, the aircraft are the same size and seat the same number of pax.

Doesn't Republic already do the AA 175 flying from ORD and soon MIA? And Compass is going to base their crews from LAX. Got to figure maybe Compass will rotate some 175 flying through DFW or PHX. 117 will literally murder them to death if they run east coast routes for AA with LAX crews.

If Piedmont gets onboard I'm guessing they'll do the CLT and northeast stuff like they do now, but with larger planes and different city pairs.

Yeah I know the 2nd smallest E-Jet and the 2nd Largest CRJ are almost identical in passenger carrying. I just meant to their respective series. E-Jets overall carve out a slightly larger passenger carrying capacity as a whole, and there is definitely overlap between the shorter E-Jets and longer CRJs. We're all on the same page here...

The biggest difference is perhaps the size of the "tube." It's just more comfortable in the back of an E175. Plus most bags fit in the overhead.

Might as well put 175s on property since USAPA doesn't even try to get pay parity with delta and united for group I aircraft. Just every other plane in the fleet! And @amorris311 needs more career progression

On the topic of aircraft size, it's actually fascinating to put some of the airplanes side by side for comparison. The Q400 is actually a few feet longer than the ERJ-175. This thread made me think of one of @ChasenSFO 's photos. Sorry for the thread drift... Just nerding out over here...

There was an MD-88 on a gate, sandwiched between A-330's last night. Those things made it look like a toy.

Hell, the 320's a toy compared to the 330. I still remember telling the IOE captain "Aww, I can hear through the door when I ring the aft flight attendant…. AWWWWWWWwwwwuh so cute!" Ha!

Thanks for the recap on this information. It amazes me that a carrier has 11 regional carriers flying under their American Eagle brand. Simply incredible. I don't think any other airline has amassed this many regionals under one paint. Well eventually one paint...

I don't think that Parker and Kirby ever want to see 11 carriers wholly owned. They want these carrirers weak but not weak enough to fail. They need to be able to play one against the other both at the pilot level and at the corporate level.
