The LOA was approved...thankfully. Part of it states that anybody on LOA can seek other employment during that period including flying jobs. Once returning they have to present all their outside flying hours to the company.

Can new hires even take the LOA? I was kind of under the impression that the F/As had to be with the company a certain amount of time in order to qualify for LOA and sort of assumed that it would work the same for us. I could be very wrong though.
