Morbid curiosity. Upgrade times?

Is FedEx growing fast, retiring alot, or is being an FO really good there?
The other less exciting part is we do MOABs and this is the biggest. So the last of this bid won't be trained out until 2023 and maybe even 2024. Next bid won't supposedly be until fall 2023. Who knows what the world will look like then.

I can only speak for the Blue Jet but there's such a wide disparity in QOL for Jr/Sr that it explains why CA has been going so Jr as of late. Good pairings pretty much get gobbled up (a function of having PBS) by the top dogs.....middle of the pack guys just hope to get pairings that they can trade later on. Jr guys get terrible trips with little flexibility to trade.

I really hope that the union and management can come up with an agreement so that B6ALPA can gain access to the scheduling software and start building trips. Some of the trips are so ridiculous. LAX320 comes to mind.

LAX pairings will suck until there's a midwest base, an additional base out west, or more trips that stay on the west coast.

Otherwise the only practical way to start pairings and maintain any semblance of commutability is with red eyes.

Well... that sucks for KD! He's transferring from JFK to LAX.

Incidentally at NJC, we actually had this exact conversation about JBL and LAX and how the company needs either a west coast base (PHX), or a Midwest base. Or both.

You could buy us and have both! And maybe spruce up our product a bit while you're at it. :)

Midwest base? Unlikely...At least I don't see any city in the short term (1-2 years) that would be a contender. I would't hold my breath on another base out W....maybe more W coast flying could help things out. But if I were a betting man I'd put money on a AA merger before any of the aforementioned scenarios.
