Mooney low over water... like... REALLY low

Meh, he's not any lower than a crop duster...

It's not the fact that he's low, if someone wants to hug the deck or wash the wheels in their airplane...whatever, I dont really care if they aren't creating a hazard to others on the ground. But this guy is going heads on to a boat ramp full of people... that's what makes this stupid and reckless and deserving of FAA enforcement.

Pretty sure that it's real. It would be pretty difficult to get the reflection AND shadow on the water right.

They were able to make it work for the Apollo moon landing.

Sigh, I wasn't saying this was ok. I was being devils advocate to the "ZOMG DANGEROUS!". Relatively speaking, no, it's not, hence the post about crop dusters. Judging from your post, I can tell you've never been around them because they don't just get insanely close to crops. But their regs say it's ok(well, until recently), so they get a free pass, which is fine by me. This guy does deserve some certificate action, but objectively stating that he endangered the people on the boats, I don't think so. Not out of context.

I meant getting close to the things(churches, schools, houses, highways) around the crops. One guy I talked to quite often had a funny thing to say about power lines. "You can go under them at noon, but not in the morning."

I kind of think all of these are stupid. It's been a long time since I've been in a Mooney, but as slick as they are you had better hold your altitude correctly. That or you could take the other approach and buzz a boat dock full of people.

Not much chance. The only time a waiver allows energy directed at people is when they are part of the act and even that is very controlled.

MikeD , I wasn't at Williams AFB when this supposedly happened, but I recall hearing that one of the Iranian Air Force UPT students did something similar in a T-38 to impress some girls living in a University of Phoenix dorm.

I know that the Iranian AF guys at Moody AFB were good for some pretty good stories, but I was wondering if that particular Willie story was true, or fiction. Buzzing the University girls' dorm supposedly occured after I left Williams, and it would have been a little before your arrival there, however I thought you might have heard about it if true. I always wondered about that story.
