Midwest/Delta

Expand codeshare. Mexicana takes 16 of the B717s from Midwest. The remaining nine to Midwest are coming from somewhere, but not disclosed.

According to APC.com
Midwest has
717: 9

According to Aviation Week...

Boeing's spokesman confirmed today that 16 of the 25 jets headed to Mexicana are being "redeployed" after being returned from Midwest, but said the jet maker "hasn't yet decided" where the remaining nine jets in the leasing accord will come from.

...Be very afraid.

Yep. RAH just bought into F9 as a bribe to get awarded some MORE narrowbody flying. Gotta love those RAH studs, killing some MORE decent paying airline jobs.

I believe Northwest had a very large share in Midwest that was absorbed by Delta in the merger.

It was 47%, and it's now DAL's 47%. TPG is keeping it alive for something.

For now...
TPG wants the 717s gone.
Midwest has 9 717s.
Mexicana needs 9 more.
What we have here is a round peg and a round hole.
(I could take this analogy to the next step and correlate this to what TPG, TH, and the rest of the Midwest management horde are doing to the the great airline that was Midwest, the real best care in the air employees, and the people of Milwaukee, but you get the idea.)

Troll alert...worry about getting your TA closer to SWA's before you worry about what some regional airline is doing.

I hope it doesnt matter who said it. I really hope you all would not accept 190s in general. Especially for Midex flying.

For the rates we have right now...hell no would I want to touch a 190. Other than quitting Meyers, how would we not "accept" the planes? Please inform me, because I seriously don't know.

Nice edit and addition there Meyers...if you can't read the thread above (especially the rudeness from Velo) and see that it got personal without any of us responding, you're blind kid. What a piece of work.

I can respect the fact your hands are tied as an employee. Very little you can do. However from the more senior guys like Velo they have valid points. But perhaps come over the wrong way at times?

Velo has his online persona that he desperately tries to keep to, and I'm fine with that. I've heard from the others that have met him that he's a kitten in person and is 'afraid' to change his online persona.

His valid points (if there are any) are lost in translation. He doesn't help in any way. I'm out...the bar is calling....have fun beating this one up.

I dont have anything to add. A lot of this whole Midwest ordeal is directly related to the midwest mgt. I dont think there is much to add. Blame those who deserve the blame and that's the midwest management.

CBA's aren't ala` cart. You expect the company to comply, and you should comply too.

This should just serve a lesson as to the importance of scope. If the company can give away your work, your CBA is worthless.

Also, it shows the evolution that is taking place on domestic routes. As the companies that flew crapwagon tprops on EAS routes turn into dominate players in the industry, it is essential that they achieve CBAs that reflect their position in the industry.

And finally, no matter how valid, astute or pertinant your point is, if you come across like a jackass, your point will be lost.

What's RAH's contract on new aircraft types, or is there already a pay rate in place that covers the 190?

I know ours was pretty wishy washy (who knew in 1999 we'd get 76 seat airplanes) and said the company had to "talk" to us to establish pay rates, but it never said anything about not placing them into service without a negotiated pay rate. Might be something ALL of us should consider getting in the scope part of our contracts. You wanna fly bigger airplanes? You gotta settle with the union on a pay rate before they fly.
