Mid range Twin Turboprop

Not my choice but its the only thing in his price range.
That's because the owner either can't afford or isn't willing to buy a T-Prop that will fit the mission.

I don't see a 900 mile plane with 8 people for $600k + $300k/year. I just don't see it happening.

What about a Cheyenne III? Those have 7 or 8 passenger seats, and you should be able to find one sub 750-ish. I don't know how far you can go with full seats though.

No kidding on the Caravan! That Merlin is peaking my interest.. how does it fly? The operation is single pilot as of now.

To the people badmouthing the KA 100- does that pertain to the 100 with the Pratt -28s as well? Or just the B100s with the Garretts? I know the PT6 well, but I don't have any time in anything powered by the Garretts.

I didn't see a price for that one, but I don't think it would be under 600K. That one has my vote!

I doubt it would be over $300k. There is a higher time one for sale, but still nice, for $185k. Operating costs and such are a little high I would think.

Only problem with the Merlins are that they are maintenance hogs. The two at my home airport probably have a two 2:1 ratio for Maint to flight hours. Cheap airplane, but for a reason.

Particularly the B100 in my case. I have no experience with other 100 models.

The problem you're going to run into, IMO, isn't the $600k acquisition budget but the $300k annual budget. Unless they aren't flying a lot (which would be ), $300k on a turbine twin isn't going to do it.

I'd be pushing for at least double the annual budget. Then I'd go shopping for something like a metro or KA200.

Can you put 8 pax in one of the stretched moos?

If you can get them to raise the budgets, you might even look at Cj3! That would be a great plane for that mission, IMO.
