Like I said....their "concessionary contract" is better than what we have now. Although listing the CRJ-200 on there might be a bit of a stretch. They have ONE, and last I heard, it was coming here sometime this year. They will be getting the 76 seaters, though.

June 6 is the last flight of the 200, and June 7th is when the 900 starts service.

Apparently, the vacancy that came out yesterday for the April class was for 30 saab and 2 crj 900 new hire FOs. Supposedly some people have chosen to wait for the June class to get the jet. That's fine by me, it increases my chances of getting into the April class. :)

I'm definitely looking their way as a possibility. Talking to some airline peeps I know they say Mesaba will grow, probably beyond just the 36 jets promised and eventually be spun off.

My friend told me to look to a company with growth and one that is ordering new planes. As they'll definitely need captains, which means upgrades for FO's. Sounds like good advice!

We will see what we see in 08!

Spun off to who?? They are already an independant company.

Spoke with Julie today and setup an interview for next Thursday the 5th. I am hoping for the CRJ but won't mind the Saab at all :yup:

so i finally get a call that finalizes my interview.

it is going to be on 4/19. i will be flying in on 4/18

mesaba will provide the tix, hotel and shuttle ride. from my understanding, i would have to pay for my own food, which i don't mind.

any suggestions anybody?? as far as getting ready for the interview??

i am studying IFR, FAR and company profile stuff.

any good place on the internet for suggestions?

it is my first time interviewing for a pilot job, so i am kinda nervous.

The gouges on aviationinterveiws.com are very accurate. Know your 91 IFR stuff and the AIM, and you will be golden on the written. Everyone is friendly and they try to put you at ease... be yourself, I'm sure they've heard all of the canned answers.

Good luck

Oh, and I interviewed about a month ago, with a class that starts on Memorial Day (and I believe they've scheduled some people already for the beginning of July)... so be prepared to wait a while to start training if you get the job.

Is mesaba really as bad as everyone says?? Is it really worse than mesa?

I think Mesaba is back on the upswing right now. They're set up for some serious growth over the next few years, and their "concessionary" contract is better than a couple of regionals' current contracts, our's included. Hopefully we can get that fixed by the end of the year with the new contract.

Any idea on which new domiciles they will open up in the future? Also, they are not a scab airline, right?
