Isn't this because they are not conducting interviews anymore? You apply and then get a class date sent to you.
 
It would certainly seem that a hiring trend of fog-a-mirror==> training is an expensive way to go. Training people must cost more than HR hiring-selection people, and if the HR people are delivering a substandard bunch of people into training, then fix the HR operation. Of course, it would be nice if they had a reasonable-compensation tool to work with.

Nothing against airlines with good reputations for training (if sometimes little else :ooh: ). Great Lakes and Mesa come to mind. The end result is a decent pilot.
