Mesa to Operate E175; Extends CRJ Agreement

"Trawling can be contrasted with trolling, where baited fishing lines instead of trawls are drawn through the water. Trolling is used both for recreational and commercial fishing whereas trawling is used mainly for commercial fishing. Trawling is also commonly used as a scientific sampling, or survey, method " Wikipedia.

I was based in FAT, and drove 3.5 hours to get to work. I tried flying but it just about never worked very well and took every bit as long, so I get your drift here. I was thinking if you lived in the outstation it would be great, cheaper, easier drive and everything. Like now OO has SFO as a domicile....took away SMF. I thought it was better before.
If you live in an outstation it's heaven on earth.

That's why my original comment.

what does this mean? A Lack in standardization...you mean as to who gets good trips vs. being able to balance them among all of the pilots on certain equip.?

You fly with the same crews over and over again. You get to know what the other person lacks or excels. When you fly with someone who is not in your usually cadre of crews ASAP reports seem to rise as well as non standard procedures. I'm sure there are folks that fly standard but unfortunately it is not the norm.

I see, by not shuffling the deck, a lack of discipline leads to non-standard procedures. Well that's too bad...I think I've seen that problem with a particular captain at SBP who would do illegal approaches...and the guys would go along because he'd done ti before and they wanted to get home rather than return to LA.

That's a perfect example!

Lack of standardization. The age old problem. @PeanuckleCRJ put it succinctly once that even with standardization, you have to pick your battles.

At my airline, being standard is this fantasy world I only see every 6 months in the sim. I'm lucky if I get guys who do the checklist responses correctly.

Recently a buddy admonished me saying "I'd be a real joy to fly with when I upgrade (roll eyes)" because I was complaining that my CA had decided that the ignition is armed "his own way", vice the book stating "A on odd days, B on even days".

Standardization.... Pick your battles.

.. and it had 0 to do with being under 23 years of age, right?

It helped me look around, but in the end I would have still been at my current place. I've been hoping to fly here for a good while. If not, I would have gone back to silver when they called asking me to.
