Afternoon to everyone, once I finish my commercial and get ALL my CFI’s ratings, I plan on looking into one of the programs. Right now I have talked with Flight Safety Academy and Mesa regarding there PACE program and ATP
They all seem to have there good and bad points.
From what I have heard is that most pilots don’t like the Mesa Pilots, they are the one responsible for the low pay and getting a bad contract….not sure how much of that is true or not. But just by reading other post. There is no guarantee that you will get a job. I read in one post that you can make it to the end of the program and BUST on your check ride…that’s gotta suck. Granted that this is one of the least expensive ways going the “direct” route. I think about 10-12 grand? Not all too bad compared to the other programs. But you really don’t get to build hours incase this doesn’t work out.
Talking with Flight Safety, they have a pretty good name in the industry, with their program you will KNOW if you are hired by an airline before you start the training. If you do get a conditional offer, you finish up the program...and like all other programs you are swimming in there pool. I think they have ASA, XJet, AEagle….I think that runs about $25 thousand(?)But then again you also have the chance of washing out with them…
ATP, cost the most with there ‘direct track’ I think it’s around 32 thousand last time I checked. That’s a pretty hefty price tag. Pretty much you fly around in a Diamond, using the glass cockpit and finish the program with about 500 hours. The contract they have with is XJet. The biggest problem I see is that’s a hefty price tag, but if you don’t make it with Xjet they will refund you about 10 grand, and they also hire you back on to build up hours, MULTI ENGINE time, BIG PLUS….but you have to go thru their ACPP…
I am looking to get more insight on the MESA program…and how it compares to the other programs…thanks for any and all help
