I'll put $5 on this.
Hell I still owe Max a steak dinner at The Sizzler for doubting his DAL + NWA a few years back.
Maybe at ACE we can have a craps table setup with all the merger odds.
My money is on AA and JB. But if you are right, Delta is basically saying "Silly American, I fart in your general direction!"
The only reason I'd edge towards JB is that we've got a MASSIVE JFK terminal problem. They've got some swanky digs there in JFK. Throw the domestic stuff to the JB terminal, international-only ops at 2 & 4, problem semi-solved.
If you're going to spend billions to fix the terminal, might as well spend billions and get some airplanes out of it.
Man AS is getting huge on the West Coast. They're turning SJC into quite a focus city and added multiple Hawaiian cities to SMF, SJC, and OAK all within the last year or so. I guess with the fall of Mexicana, ATA, and Aloha plus AA dumping the SJC hub, hell, why not dig in? I did notice Horizon dumped several cities from LAX on the same day but added SJC. I wonder where all those Q400s were put?I want DL + AK, you guys still want to be #1 on west coast, right?

ASHINGTON (Reuters) - JetBlue Airways (NasdaqGS:JBLU - News) has no plans to get involved in airline merger activity, preferring instead to grow on its own, the company's chief executive said.
Alaska + Hawaiian + American = Bonus army men for controlling the entire country.
