And, on the other end of the spectrum, there's Envoy.

Or perhaps it's easier now, too. Used to be a freaking gong show with the ABCs, at least on the EMB-145. How many lights turn on in the cabin if the emergency lights activate? Uh. Phone a friend, please. Oh yeah, that's not even on a type ride, just a straight up PC.
I did a PC with A,B,C and D. Passed all four

One of the many frustrations with the new streamlined process of training is when asking a question the instructor will tell you “you don’t need to know that” but the when the systems validation comes around those questions end up showing up.
SV aside, the APDs doing KVs are not 200-in-type people for the most part, and they are going to know what you need to know vs. the 200-in-type-whiz-kid FO instructor from UVU who makes more than a junior Captain and is home every night since he's getting abused as a training pilot doing doubles, but anyway.

I remember being in ground and asking about the TR inhibition pins (or whatever Embreeair deigns to call them - the things that mechanically lock a deferred reverser closed). One answer from someone who hadn't flown the jet I got was "you do not need to know that;" the next instructor happily ran it down in the AMM. It turns out those pins are visible on the walkaround when installed so I would submit you would, in fact, need to know that.

Curiosity about the machine should be indulged. Not necessarily during classtime, when peoples' eyes sometimes glaze over, but there are good operational reasons to know some things.

I'm not really sure where you come up with that I'm on here "selling." Not even close to the truth. I'm here to share information that is relevant to AIRLINE PILOTS. Last I checked, AA was still the largest major airline in the world so those who want to chat about AA can engage with me here. As I've mentioned before, I work at the palace right now and am in close proximity to many decision makers. I share what I can here when I can.

As far as the flow from Envoy to AA. That absolutely speaks for itself. Nothing else out there can touch it. Think about it. Begin your college career at a pipeline university and retire from the left seat of an AA 787. Not too bad a path if I say so myself. As you can see, there's not much that really needs to be "sold" here.
May I ask when you flowed to AA and why did you goto the "Palace" instead of flying the line? I genuinely would like to know if you enjoy AA so much why spend so much time recruiting for Envoy?

I think by working at the palace he means he Is a gate guard. Or maybe refills the paper in the copier machines and brews the coffee. The only way he is around the decision makers is when he opens the gate at his guard shack post.

121 regional is getting more easy by the year. When I was hired it was 4 weeks of ground, a indoc test that wasn't a cake walk, systems test that I studied everyday in groups for weeks for. Now it's all on CBT's. Fail test at end of module? We all know what happens next, just redo. I upgraded and the "test" was an FOM quiz. Systems tests gone. Apparently the weeding out is in sims and even then they push guys out to OE that do 100-150 hours of OE before they wash out. Just put in the effort and I think you'll be plenty fine. They don't make it very difficult anymore and even my experience wasn't difficult compared to what people did 1 or 3 decades ago.

I already avoid RJs when booking flights. But this rundown convinces me I need to make it an actual rule. Good god.

Sadly everyone who knows Chris knows this isn't trolling.

Conrad washed out of 121 training twice. 3 times if you count captain upgrade. Seems like he was told that at least a couple of times. Nothing a carrier can do about people lying on apps.

There ought to be a way that you can’t lie about your previous 121 flying jobs. I’d have to look it up more, but I recall a thread here about new changes to PRIA/background rules where they can see your discipline records. I wonder if that will show all airlines, or only the airlines the pilot discloses?

Either way. He failed his initial 767 qual. But the worst part, straight from the docket interviews, he was not receptive to feedback and would get defensive. Failing because of weakness and then being defensive and snap back at those trying to help? That should be grounds for termination.
