I still live out here in Fresno. lol
I posted on here a while back (somewhere around page 3 of this thread I believe). Well, since then, and after speaking to a few folks here at Jetcareers, I am happy to report I went back to school and FINALLY finished my degree after starting it long ago. I earned my degree in Criminology last semester and loved every minute of it.
Now, at age 29 and married, I am considering going to Mazzie Flying Service and doing the career pilot program. I am planning on possibly attending at the end of the Summer next year so I can pay for most of the training in cash. The huge loan repayment doesn't really seem like much "fun" for my wife and I, lol.
I read your blog, Sub, and must say CONGRATS, although it is somewhat belated. It's good to hear that everything is going well for you out there. I enjoyed reading blog and like how it takes the reader from Day 1 to completion (though one never really "completes" learning to fly, hehe). Who knows, maybe if I start out there one day I will end up being your student if you are still around.
On a side note, for folks wondering if Mazzie is a decent school, I must say that I don't think I've ever really heard any complaints about the school other than schedualing conflicts once in a while. I have visited there a few times and I don't have any complaints other than it was really busy...and you can't really complain about that! Decent price, good training, nice instructors, varied weather-good location for different types of weather and ATC, NO hurricanes, solid history, and NO BS. You can't really ask for much more than that. Also, the fact that DE727UPS sort of gives his approval of the school (based on what he has heard), goes a long way in my book. He's a good guy to pay attention to. God gives us 2 eyes, 2 ears, and 1 mouth for a reason; so we watch and listen 2x as much as we yap.
Again, congrats to you Subpilot for taking the plunge and following your dream! *Big thumbs up!*
