Martinaire

Night UPS feeder. Schedual normally starts at 1800-1900 and then your day ends at 0800 or there abouts. My run is different. A loooooong run. 6 landings per shift 14 hours scheduald duty day, 4 hours flight time per day and I sleep on a couch in okc lol

24,500 first year capt. 27,000 second year. Benifits and other things help. My run makes about 30k a year.

As for the company. Been here 2 months and I love it. The CP is amazing to work for and it's the same with the assistant CP.

The aircraft are well maintained. If you have an issue it gets fixed in a hurry. That's what I like to see in a company for the most part anyway.

Just curious. Why do you ask?

I see the Van parked there every time I pass through and wonder why it's not flying all the time. We pass through about 2-2:30.

Not bad on the pay, i thought they paid less...

Do they still give you a $100 to wash your plane? BTW, i wish you guys would vacate the West coast ;)

If you want to wash the plane, they'll pay you $75 (for a caravan) and $150 (for a metro) every 14 days. It's not too bad, especially when you realize that no matter how vigorously you wash some of that stuff isn't coming off unless you take the paint with it... so it is not like it has to be spotless.

Also, I wish you guys would vacate dallas but thats not going to happen either so lets avoid wishing ill will on each other.

You can wash an airplane? Who knew? :)

I was cruising along today, looking out at the wings and thinking "man, this thing is really dirty."

That was as far as my thought process went. Never once did it occur to me that washing it was an option.

I wash it every 2 weeks. 150 extra a month helps out a little. I found that a mixture of vinager and water will take the sute(sp?) off the right side. Cut my wash time in half. Lol

if I was flying at 2 am outta okc I'd be pissed lol. It's where I get my 5 hours of sleep on the couch. No seriously. A couch in the pilots lounge. Lol

Hhhh. Yes, 4 hours of sleep before a 15 hour duty day (witch I'm in the middle of). Well no bueno

I remember watching you guys do that run when AMF did the other one out of OKC. It looked like sucked for you guys!

It is much better now that the DFW leg has been cut. You actually have time to get "some" sleep.

I accidently taxied into the Ameriflight domain in Portland one day trying to cross the runway... I could feel the stares!!

Do I need to start flipping all of the martinaire guys off as I taxi by?:D j/k

Yeah, lets do it! We can start a code. Flipping off with the bird straight up means 'How're you doing? I'm doing great.' The other pilot, if doing great too, will reply with a straight up bird. If doing bad, he'll reply with a bird going straight down and if doing so-so it will be either pointing left or right (depending on which direction he is hanging in his boxers that day, for females it is optional.)

@spira. Haha. Nice idea!

Now if only I saw any other pilot on my run....I mean ANY other pilot, wow this run is lonely haha
