That's how my first one happened. Indefinite hold for LGA, held out as long as we could, then diverted to IAD. no sooner
did the flight get re-released to IAD, did a pop up thunderstorm fire DIRECTLY on top of the field. He gave it a look,
made the proper call to divert to bwi instead, and everything turned out okay.

Except yours doesn’t sound like a double diversion. They just changed their destination twice. But only technically diverted once.

Throw in a 5 hour tarmac delay and then it's a real party.

We diverted once for MX, swapped the plane and then diverted that plane for WX and kicked off an angry PAX.

They had a 12 hour day for a flight that should have only taken a couple hours.
