They still haven't found this thing? I haven't been paying attention to the news but I figured they might at least sent something down there and got confirmation of it.

Wavewatch 3 models run by the NOAA and the NAVY. Quick radar scans of the ocean sea state. Also offshore buoys that record wind, wave nights and a few other data points. I'm sure they could at least have some idea of the sea state if they looked back and knew the location of the crash.

What makes you think the Russians know where they are?

They lost one about 1968. The US knew kind of where it was. After the Russians gave up looking the US went and got it. The Russians watched the US salvage it but assumed we were mining the ocean.

Project Azorian was a massive, ludicrous failure. One of the worst boondoggles of the Cold War era, and that's going a ways. Of course, some would say that it wasn't any such thing, but that would involve our Government lying to us, and I think this thread has proven that no government would ever do that!
