Question the journalism of that source.... anyone who says the words "False Flag" i'm a little skeptical.

I was on an EgyptAir flight from FCO to CAI and the cockpit door opened and shut at least 4x on that short two hour flight. I don't know what they were up to but it appeared an ACM was on board (was wearing two stripes) and "training" or something. he was in and out of the cockpit as if it were a bathroom and he had the runs (with the crew sometimes leaving the door wide open for a brief moment). Felt quite uneasy watching it all from first class. Weird thing is I saw him push the food cart up and down the aisle at one point...

Guess that's how the FOs pay their dues before they're fully qualified? Wouldn't surprise me in the least because I'm very familiar with the culture there.

On a troop flight to Jordan (not a mil aircraft) the CA let my younger brother program the flight director for a diversion around Turkey. I dunno if this was just because it was only soldiers on board or what. Either way, my little bro bragged to me he 'flew' a 777 before me. :/

If it's true it doesn't bode well for the guy's reputation at all. And though I think it's inexcusable to break such an important safety protocol to try and get some tail, what she's done is quite distasteful. I think she could've shared that info exclusively with the authorities instead of the media if her intentions were to "help" but this just screams "look at me I knew one of the pilots who's involved with this thing in the news that's happening right now!"

It's incredibly distasteful on their part.

It's also incredibly childish on the pilots' part. That move is straight out of a concert tour.

I probably wouldn't have done that either. But trying to do something cool for your kid is nowhere near trying to score with paying passengers.

There are so many redundancies in a tower that a kid speaking on the mic was no different than a trainee learning the position.

Letting someone into the cockpit in this day in age sounds crazy. Seriously, what would you do if someone forced their way in while you had the door open or someone wouldn't leave the cockpit after a tour? You literally have no space to maneuver around and if you're out of radio contact with ATC, your calls wouldn't be heard.
