Lost Job...

Exactly 1 year after being hired...as of today we are selling our airplane and I'll be looking for another job.

Certainly not the way I had planned for my day to be, but atleast I have my option of being able to return to Horizon.

I'd prefer to stay on LOA as long as possible, but certainly doesn't seem like that's an option right now.

I fly a trip next week, but that will probably be my last trip in N17AM :(

Did they give you a reason for selling the airplane? Was it more money than they had expected to spend on operations?

That's really too bad. Seemed like a nice operation that you ran there.

I'm sure you won't have any problems finding a new position.

Sorry to hear that. I hope that you find something else very soon. Best of luck to you.

Company needs $$, even if it means taking a hit on the plane (which is paid for). There were also most layoffs in other departments, not just mine. I've got one place that I'm going to visit on Monday that's over at LZU...a friend works in the MX shop and they fly King Air's/BeechJet's and Hawkers...he seems to think they might be looking...so it can't hurt to try.

If nothing else, I do have my recall at Horizon and can use it for the next available class date.

This happened exactly 1 year to the date of being hired...but wow it's been a fun year. I was treated well, got to go to places I'd never been before. I never imagined I'd set foot in all the states East of the Mississippi and all 5 Great Lakes in one year. I have pleasant memories...and who knows, maybe after the weekend they think about it more and decide to keep it.

Hope for the best, and prepare for the worst.

and thanks to my JC family for the support...means a lot y'all

Sorry about the news....

Best of luck on whatever new adventure you come across.....

sorry to hear that man. If you do go back to Horizon I moved out of Spokane and came down to Redding for a flight instructor gig. Let me know if you pass through town.

Sorry for your loss. You might try posting your location and experience on the post.
