Looking at possible lateral move

He's on there. So what? He has a QOL that he loves, loves to fly, has been on great planes, currently is on a great plane (if the battery fix is actually that), has had a very successful USAF and civilian career, and wouldn't trade anything for the world. Way I see it... it's all wins for him, so now what's your point exactly?

So your stance is that it's OK to scab out and cross a picket line, but only if you wind up flying a big shiny jet?

Aren't you the same guy who posted about how great it would be for Eagle to get Airbuses?

Why yes he was! I believe he said it was neat!

^. No. Learn to read before posting. Stop assuming. Now that you 4 dingbats have successfully hijacked this poor guys thread, lets get back to the point... The lateral move...

A JC thread staying on topic?

And he got that by screwing a bunch of people over.

Hay before we get so derailed I just wanted to thank you all for the advice and good input.

So .... Doesn't republic fly 320's?

OK to get back on topic. So your wife wants you to have not even one full day off a week with her because of money. And it's not even much money. I looked at the pay on APC and a second year AWAC FO will make more than a 1900 CA.

The difference in 1st year pay at a respectable commuter and where you are now is probably around $600-$700 a month after taxes. Is that worth spending 4 days off a month at home?

You have my respect, I don't think anyone I know could do what you have done.

GTFO as soon as possible, you have enough PIC where you can apply, more PIC =/ an interview. The only thing that would change it is if you are a LCA. If you are or can be a line check guy DO IT NOW or you will be wasting your time away IMO. That is what the majors are looking for at this point, because there are so many qualified guys out there, guys with 1000 TPIC are a dime a dozen, my company alone has 300+ of them and we only have 70 airplanes...

@nmineau

I think I can guess where you are now, take SKYW and don't look back. Stash some emergency cash jst in case. You'll be back to the same pay after about a year or two. A 3 leg commute is the second circle of hell, no matter how good/bad of an airline you work for... My angle is what if things slow down and the music stops? Better to be at SKYW... Good Luck with your decision. :)

if you've got 1000 121 pic+ then leave your current job and go some where that you can live in base or commute reasonably. Get some jet time to go with your pic time. You'll then be able to wait in more comfort til someone you really want to work for calls.

I didn't read all the responses but here's my take: tough it out for now, and then take the first thing that comes along which is actually better qol and/or pays more $. Such as: a major airline, a corporate gig, etc. Going into the right seat at another regional would not be better.

As much as I hate to agree with anyone's wife, I gotta agree with her on this one.
