[logshare.com] this is what about 5 hours gets you

I'm just private, I don't care to share my business with those it doesn't concern.

Stop your whining and stop saying silly things.

You can't post your entire logbook for the world to see, and claim that you're a private person all in the same thread.

There is no reason for being an ass. I have no problem showing my logbook to people in a thread about logbooks. I do have a problem discussing personal matters which include reasons I'm not worried about my dual time.

How do people verify these hours? What would keep a dishonest person from copying a bunch of these entries into his/her own logbook and using it for future employment? How do employees verify them and what kind of consequences occur if a person makes fraudulent lobook entries?

If you have to go to logshare to find information to pad your logbook that's pretty sad. Spend a day at the airport, log some time in whatever passes by the window - MUCH easier that way.......

There is nothing to stop people from making stuff up and putting it in their logbook except for the fear of getting caught - a bit like murder, and burglary, and assault and battery and.......

No one's saying you're being an ass, Alex. (I know you didn't just call Floyd one!) Lighten up.

Sheesh, one mention in FLYING and the kid is suddenly Harrison Ford. :whatever:

I wasn't in Flying, some kid named Mark was;) I'm not trying to be uptight, but after thread after thread of the same people saying the same thing about my dual time, it gets a little old to be honest. Epecially when they call me out in public (or in a thread like this). It looks much more like an attack than a genuine concern. Now if some one truley cares, I probally won't have any probleming telling them through a PM.

Have a good night,

Alex.

I don't want to get an arguement but why would it matter? If his mom is a CFI then wheres the problem?

I doubt it has anything to do with his mom. I think in a typical situation the red flag would be 400+ hours of dual, 20+ hours of solo among others....

That being said Alex's situation appears to be FAR from typical. He appears to have advantages that others don't. Oh well.

Alex, you DO realize you're gonna get creamed in any interview for all that time you spent riding shotgun with your mom, right? That much dual received is a huge red flag.

Dude give the kid a break... I would hope that most interviewers would understand that sort of a situation.

I'm in the same boat. My dad is a CFI and since I've been flying since the beginning of highschool I've built up a lot of dual. 560 hours of dual to be precise with, 1200tt. Matter of fact it took me a 101.1 hours of dual to solo (I had to wait to turn 16)

I'm surprised some long time members of JC would give Citationkid such a hard time about that. And this thread WAS about logbooks. Not Alex's dual, and how he got it. Why hate on em' in an attempt to bust em' out?

He appears to have advantages that others don't. Oh well.

Those advantages make you a little jealous? Geesh, be happy for the kid!

Jealousy is saying "I wish I had the opurtunities Alex has."

Envy is trying to pull him down and belittle him.

I'm jealous, but wish him the best.

All that dual is legit legal time. It will definately require some explanations whenever he sits for an interview, but that's it.

Alex was given crap about this when he first came on the site, and he will continue to be given crap about it. If he wants to log that time, then he's going to have to answer some hard questions from people. I mean come on, Alex was how old when come of this multi time was logged? 11?

Personally, I'd look at it like this; if a few people on an internet message forum are giving him crap about it (including somebody that was in charge of hiring at a flight school), then what do ya'll think is going to happen in an interview? I'd listen to the people here with much much MUCH more experience than him and not log the time, but hey that's just me.

Mine: http://www.logshare.com/log.jsp?email=mls515@rocketmail.com

I data-entered the whole thing when things were really slow around Christmas. I only had around 300 hours then. I was glad I did it, I found some errors I needed to correct. Now I just enter all my flights at the end of the day and I sit down with a couple beers and update my paper logbook every couple of weeks. It stays at home in the fire safe.

Jealous...Me......Not hardly. Maybe opportunities would have been a better word. When it comes time for me to interview for a position I wouldn't be worried one bit.

As for hatin on him, you can't put that kind of information on a message forum and not expect people to pick at it.

I think it comes down to quality vs. quantity of hours.

He is not worried about it and neither am I.

Carry On!

Well, that time is completely legal to log....As long as you (he) has the systems knowledge to back it up, then more power to him. I didn't have one hour of flight time when I was his age. He's got one hell of a head start, and that is great. The kid has spent a lot of time in airplanes, damn straight I'd log it, but I WOULD be ready to back it ALL up. As you all have advised.
