Logging time as a student while working on the air ambulance

Re: Logging time as a student while working on the air ambul

That is only for compensation or hire. are you paying the guy and for the airplane? I don't thinkg so. It will not need a 100 hr.

Are you implying that an air ambulance is not for hire?

Nah just a bit of pre-senile myopia. Focused so hard on the instruction part, forgot all about what the airplane was being used for. :bandit:

Ya gotta admit though; there have been some strange posts in this thread.

Well, at the company I fly a Citation for, we are under part 135 at all times the medical crew is on board. I would imagine that this company is the same... it all depends on the POI (FAA inspector for your company) as to what your companies policies are.

If it is, then you cant be logging student time on a flight operated under part 135. In fact, you legally wouldnt even be allowed to fly the aircraft or do any "non flying" pilot duties (ie radios or landing gear)!

Jdawdy, i am a little confused as to why you asked your question on here. your company pilots would have the answer to the original question since they would be the CFI who would have to sign your logbook for the training recieved.
